Trademark Usage

Introduction

The following are guidelines for using the trademarks and logos of Draconis Project (“Draconis Project”). These guidelines apply to all of Draconis Project’s registered and unregistered trademarks or service marks (such as any identifying words, names, symbols, devices, slogans, or combination of these). These guidelines may be unilaterally changed by Draconis Project from time to time, upon reasonable notice to You.
Guidelines for Using Draconis Project Logos

Without first receiving the express, written consent of an authorized representative of Draconis Project, which consent Draconis Project may give or withhold in its sole discretion,
You shall not:

  1. use Draconis Project logos in connection with any service or product that competes with a Draconis Project product or service, including without limitation, the advertisement or sale thereof.
  2. display Draconis Project logos larger or more prominently than Your company or business logo, name, service, or product, wherever displayed.
  3. include Draconis Project logos in Your business, company, product, or service name.
  4. include Draconis Project logos in any manner suggesting a business affiliation with Draconis Project.
  5. include Draconis Project logos in any manner suggesting Draconis Project approval or endorsement of You or Your ideas, beliefs, products, or services.
  6. display Draconis Project logos on material that is pornographic, unlawful, defamatory, violent in nature, or which has a purpose or objective of encouraging unlawful activities.
  7. use Draconis Project logos for any purpose other than the identification of Draconis Project or its products or services, or providing a link to an Draconis Project web site.
  8. display Draconis Project logos in a manner or location disparaging to Draconis Project or its products or services.

You shall:

  1. include the applicable ™ or ® symbol after every Draconis Project logo, and attribute every Draconis Project logo as a trademark of Draconis Project as follows: PhilsComments.com, WarlordsCouncil.com and GridTechnologies.com are registered trademarks or trademarks of Draconis Project in the United States and other countries.
  2. display Draconis Project logos on web pages that point to a Draconis Project web site through a hypertext link.
  3. only reproduce the logos as follows: The logos shall always be clearly readable. When the logos appear against a colored background, there must be enough contrast for the logos to be readable. You shall not crowd the logos, tilt, flip, or distort the logos. You shall always align the logos on a horizontal axis.


Guidelines for Using Draconis Project Trademarks

Unless You first receiving the express, written consent of an authorized representative of Draconis Project to depart from these Trademark Guidelines, which consent Draconis Project may give or withhold in its sole discretion,
You shall:

  1. use only approved trademark artwork provided by Draconis Project.
  2. not include any Draconis Project trademarks in Your business or company name.
  3. attribute the trademarks as Draconis Project trademarks in a legend on web pages, packaging, and other materials.
      Example:
      PhilsComments.com, WarlordsCouncil.com and GridTechnologies.com are registered trademarks or trademarks of Draconis Project, Inc., in the United States and other countries.
  4. not include any Draconis Project trademarks in the name of Your products, services, technology, domain names.
  5. not display Draconis Project trademarks larger or more prominently than Your logo, or the names of Your company, business, services, or products, wherever displayed (Draconis Project trademarks should not create the strongest visual impression).
  6. not display Draconis Project trademarks in a location or manner disparaging to Draconis Project.
  7. not display Draconis Project trademarks on material that is objectionable, violent in nature, defamatory, or pornographic.
  8. use Draconis Project trademarks as adjectives followed by generic descripters (not as verbs, plurals, or possessives).
      Example:
      Incorrect: Draconis Project websites are cool
      Correct: Entertain yoursleves on Draconis Project®.
  9. mark Draconis Project trademarks with the applicable ™ (indicating claimed trademarks) or ® symbol (indicating registered trademarks) immediately after the trademark in the first prominent appearance of a trademark in headlines, the first time a trademark appears in body text, and the first time the trademark appears on subsequent pages of a document with more than one page if the topics discussed is different or if the pages can be separated and distributed independently.
  10. do not use Draconis Project trademarks as nouns, unless You are referencing Draconis Project trade names.
      Example:
      Incorrect: Draconis Project® for entertainment opportunities
      Correct: Draconis Project® online advertising services for entertainment opportunities
      Proper Trade Name Usage:
      Draconis Project is an online media leader in entertainment.
  11. do not abbreviate, improperly capitalize, or alter the spelling of Draconis Project trademarks.
      Examples:
      Incorrect: PhilsComments
      Correct: Phil’s Comments®
      Incorrect: Draconis Project.com
      Correct: Draconis Project®
  12. set apart and distinguish Draconis Project trademarks from other words in the text when used in a non- stylized form, such as in the body text of an advertisement (render Draconis Project trademarks in bold, italics, capital letters, underscore, or quotations).
      Example:
      Incorrect: A variety of technology companies read Draconis Project.com.
      Correct: A variety of technology companies read Draconis Project® websites.
